PM Cashier- Malvern
The cashier is the central point of contact for guests, guiding them through our food and beverage menus, sharing knowledge of the type of food we create, and ensuring every transaction is handled with accuracy and care. From managing cash and card payments to coordinating orders with the kitchen and keeping the front counter organized, you’ll help ensure service flows smoothly and efficiently.
We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and genuinely enjoys connecting with people while staying organized and focused.
We are currently looking to hire for our upcoming dinner service with shifts starting after 3pm. Full time and part time positions available. Hourly rate + tips.
Overview
The Cashier is responsible for providing accurate, efficient, and friendly service while managing all point-of-sale transactions at The Buttery. This person has strong knowledge of our food and beverage menu, especially made-to-order items, and confidently guides guests through the ordering process. They ensure orders are entered correctly, payments are processed accurately, and communication between the front-of-house and kitchen remains clear and timely.
The Cashier maintains an organized and welcoming counter area, supports overall front-of-house operations, and serves as a brand ambassador of The Buttery to ensure an exceptional guest experience and a positive team environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional service by warmly greeting guests, accurately taking made-to-order food and beverage requests, and entering orders into the POS system with precision.
- Handle all cash, credit card, and digital transactions responsibly, ensuring accurate cash drawer management, correct change distribution, and balanced registers at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with kitchen and bar teams to ensure order accuracy, proper modifications, and timely service.
- Demonstrate strong food knowledge by confidently answering questions about ingredients, preparation methods, and menu options, and by making thoughtful recommendations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient front counter area, ensuring menus, receipt paper, and supplies are fully stocked and the space remains welcoming and orderly.
- Monitor guest flow and wait times, helping to keep lines moving efficiently while maintaining a calm and hospitable presence.
- Uphold service standards by collaborating with leadership to address guest concerns, reinforce quality expectations, and contribute to a respectful, team-oriented culture.
Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in high-volume coffee or a customer-facing role in food, beverage, or retail is preferred.
- Strong time management, organization, and communication skills, with the ability to stay focused and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
- Genuine passion for hospitality, with a love for great food and drink and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
- Team-oriented and self-motivated, with a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and willingness to support and uplift others.
